🔀 The Best Crossplay Games 2026

Published · updated · list data as of

Your friends own different machines? Doesn't matter. Every game on this hand-curated list supports confirmed cross-platform play between at least two of the big platform families — so nobody stays in the lobby. Before the ranking, one number that decides more group evenings than any review score: which platform the least-equipped friend plays on.

All 50 crossplay games on our list run on PC, and 43 each on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. On the Nintendo Switch it is 16 — not even a third. On the Switch 2 there are 10 so far. So if one person in your group plays on a Switch, the choice shrinks from fifty games to sixteen before anyone has said what they would like to play.

Only 12 appear on all four current platforms at once — PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Switch: Fortnite, Apex Legends, Rocket League, Fall Guys, Among Us, Dead by Daylight, Warframe, Grounded, Dauntless, Mortal Kombat 1 and EA Sports FC 25 and 26. One caveat we cannot resolve from the data: being released on a platform does not guarantee that this version joins the crossplay pool — some games leave individual platforms out. Check the publisher’s crossplay note before buying.

Four games on the list do both: crossplay online and local multiplayer on one screen. Rocket League, Brawlhalla, Baldur’s Gate 3 and Diablo IV let two people share the sofa while the rest of the group joins from other platforms. If that is the evening you are planning, our couch co-op lists by platform are the other half of the answer.

Counted on 29 September 2026 across our hand-curated crossplay list: games with confirmed crossplay between at least two platform families, at least 20 ratings in the IGDB database. “Available” means released on that platform according to IGDB — not necessarily part of the crossplay pool there.

Frequently asked questions

What is crossplay?

Crossplay means players on different devices — say a PS5, an Xbox and a PC — join the same online match. It is not the same as cross-progression, which carries your save and unlocks from one device to another.

Which games have crossplay on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Switch?

Of our 50, twelve are released on all four current platforms: Fortnite, Apex Legends, Rocket League, Fall Guys, Among Us, Dead by Daylight, Warframe, Grounded, Dauntless, Mortal Kombat 1 and EA Sports FC 25 and 26. Whether every version is part of the crossplay pool is up to the publisher.

Why are there so few crossplay games on Switch?

Of our 50 crossplay games, only 16 are released on the Switch at all — against 43 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Many of the big online games never came to the platform. On the Switch compendium page you will find what it does well instead: local co-op on one screen.

Do I need an online subscription for crossplay?

For paid games on consoles, usually yes — PlayStation Plus, an Xbox subscription or Nintendo Switch Online. Free-to-play games such as Fortnite or Apex Legends can be played online on the consoles without one. On PC no subscription is needed.

Can you combine crossplay with couch co-op?

Yes, in four games on this list: Rocket League, Brawlhalla, Baldur’s Gate 3 and Diablo IV support local multiplayer on one screen as well as crossplay online.
